The University of Western Ontario vs. Western University

Communications & Public Affairs (C&PA) is advising Western authors to use the full legal name - The University of Western Ontario – until further notice. We need to ensure that name variations of Western and affiliated institutes are brought together to support accurate comprehensive reporting and analysis of research productivity and citation patterns for individuals and the University. Western Libraries is reaching out to Elsevier and Thomson Reuters, publishers of Scopus and Web of Knowledge, to minimize any name variations. Elsevier and Thomson Reuters are used by international rankings to create a research productivity factor and it is very important to use the full legal name of the University for publications until further notice.
