Needle-free flu vaccine given green light to hit Canadian market

TORONTO - Canada is about to get a needle-free flu vaccine option. Vaccine maker AstraZenaca Canada says it has received Health Canada approval to bring FluMist to the Canadian market.
FluMist is administered by squirting a fine mist into a nostril. It is the only flu vaccine in North America that isn't delivered by injection.
Studies have found FluMist offers broader protection in young children, protecting against viruses that are related to but not a perfect match for the vaccine virus. The vaccine has been approved for use in Canada in people between the ages of two and 59.
