Ovid Access Problems with UWO Proxy Servers

There is a known problem for patrons accessing electronic materials (journal articles, book chapters) from Ovid.

The root cause of these hang-ups and time-outs has created many headaches for our technical support team as it involves multiple programs and systems: our proxy servers, our Open URL resolver (SFX) and Ovid's own platform.

We believe we have found the cause of the problem and will upgrade our servers over the reading week (starting Feb 15th) in an effort to fix the issue. We'll have to go down to one server to complete the upgrade and we are waiting until reading week when the traffic on the servers will be considerably less than it is now.

Taylor apologizes for the inconvenience this technical problem has caused our patrons; we are doing everything we can to restore access to electronic materials from Ovid.
